A canteen of 82 pieces of Alveston cutlery designed in 1961 by Robert Welch and made by Old Hall. This is a silverplated version as opposed to the more common stainless steel.
This elegant design won a prestigious Design Centre Award in 1965.
A large set for 8 people with dinner knives and forks, side knives and forks, fish knives and forks, soup spoons, dessert spoons, tea spoons, coffee spoons and two large serving spoons. All housed in the original teak and rosewood canteen.
The cutlery is in very good condition with some minor signs of wear. The canteen has been re-polished, it has a repair to one end and some scratches but still very presentable.
