1950s floor lamp by Hiscock, Appleby & Co
British mid-century floor lamp by R.C. Hiscock for Hiscock, Appleby & Co Ltd, England, circa 1955.
A smart looking lamp with steel base, painted aluminium shade and brass fittings. There is a nice attention to detail to the brass fittings, in particular the shaped lever that adjusts the position of the shade arm.
The outside of the shade looks like it has been resprayed at some stage but done well, there are a few areas of wear to the shade including a slight horizontal ding (see photos). The brass arm has a slight kink to it (again see photos). Overall the light displays well and it has been recently rewired.
Height to brass lever is 138cm.
