A vintage set of 36 pieces of silverplated David Mellor Pride cutlery. Originally created in 1953 while Mellor was still a student at the Royal College of Art, Pride has remained in continuous production and is regarded as one of the most enduring cutlery designs of the 20th century.
Refined and minimal with softly tapered handles, the design is equally suited to modern or traditional environments. The knives have stainless steel blades and ivory coloured acetal handles. Beautifully balanced in the hand, the design combines sculptural simplicity with exceptional functionality.
The set consists of 6 dinner knives, 6 dinner forks, 6 side knives, 6 side forks, 6 soup spoons and 6 dessert spoons. All pieces are in excellent condition, possibly unused, the knives are still in the original paper packing sleeves.
