Africa chair by Afra & Tobia Scarpa
A rare Africa chair by Afra & Tobia Scarpa for Maxalto, Italy. Designed in 1975 as part of the Artona' line.
The chair has the most beautifully shaped backrest made of walnut with curved radiating pattern, small brass detail at the base of the rear legs.
The seat has been over-upholstered at some stage in grey fabric. This looks smart and is very usable, the original leather seat is underneath but I don’t know the full condition of it. The chair has been priced competitively to reflect this.
