Arts & Crafts copper mirror attributed to CR Ashbee
Magnificent mirror with shaped copper frame, Arts & Crafts, circa 1900. Wonderful shape with raised domes to each corner.
Possibly by CR Ashbee (1863-1942) and very likely it was originally part of a fireplace surround. I have found two examples of a cast iron fireplace design attributed to Ashbee with the exact same mirror.
The original mirror glass has quite a bit of age/distressing around the edge. The copper frame has aged nicely and is in untouched condition.
Approx 42cm high x 42cm wide. Has a metal hook and a chain fitting to the rear.
