Jorge Zalszupin 1960s rosewood desk
Rare large rosewood desk by Jorge Zalszupin for L’Atelier, Brazil, circa 1960s.
Zalszupin was a pioneer of Brazilian modernism, working as both an architect and designer. He worked with Oscar Niemayer, designing some pieces for the famous Brasilia projects.
The desk features his signature patchwork rosewood pattern across the top, drawer-fronts and rear panel. One one side are two hanging drawers, on the other is a cabinet on wheels with a deep filing drawer and single drawer. The cabinet can be pulled out from under the desk and used independently, the side and back panels are covered in contrasting cognac leather.
Restored and in very good condition.
177.75cm long x 80cm deep x 69cm high.
