Originally created while Mellor was still a student at the Royal College of Art, Pride has remained in continuous production and is regarded as one of the most enduring cutlery designs of the 20th century.
Made of A1 grade silverplate with softly tapered handles, the design is equally suited to modern or traditional environments. The knives have stainless steel blades and ivory coloured acetal handles. Beautifully balanced in the hand, the design combines sculptural simplicity with exceptional functionality.
This vintage set dates from the 1950s/60s and is in remarkable mint condition, possibly never used. David Mellor still manufacturers Pride, a new set of this size currently retails for over £1500.
